About miraDry
miraDry is for anyone who is bothered by underarm sweat and/or has been diagnosed with axillary hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating in the underarms). The miraDry system uses thermal energy that targets and eliminates the sweat glands in your underarm. Once those glands are eliminated, they do not grow back. Goodbye sweat stains!

How does this compare to the anti sweating injections?
Of course! But not from your underarms. You are born with approximately 2-4 million sweat glands throughout your body. Your underarms only contain about 2% of those glands. After your miraDry treatment you will experience the many benefits of dry underarms, and you will continue to perspire normally elsewhere.

Check your breasts/chest and underarms for any lumps or swellings that you may not have noticed before. If found these would need to be checked by your GP before your treatment. Shave your underarm area 2-3 days before your treatment. Avoid antiperspirants and deodorants on the day of treatment.
The area will be hot and swollen. Regular use of ice packs every 20 mins will speed up recovery in the first 48hrs after treatment. Wash with gentle soap (eg Sanex) twice a day. There may be some bruising and tenderness. Do not do vigorous exercise for 7 days. Some numbness in and around the area and down the arm is normal and will resolve. Stretching the arms up during the healing time is beneficial as it may feel tight. Some temporary swelling and firmness may occur during the healing period. Take paracetamol as needed. A second treatment may be needed 3 months after the first.
