About Salmon sperm – Plenhyage XL
The new 'fish on the block' in aesthetics is Plenhyage. Derived from Salmon sperm extract, the treatment came from stem cell regenerative medicine where it has been found to have high levels of DNA extract closely aligned to human DNA.
This treatment is so versatile that it can address several issues in different parts of the face and body that normally would have required a cocktail of treatments and products. It does this by being able to make the cells turn back the clock and behave like younger cells that 'know exactly what to do'.
The Problem
Ageing skin loses its elasticity causing wrinkles to develop. This can be accelerated due to stress, inflammation and pollution. Melanocytes are also damaged resulting in areas of increased and decreased pigmentation. Skin health can also be compromised by many factors leading to Acne, Rosacea, red veins and dullness.
Heavy upper lids, lax under eye areas, tear troughs causing dark circles, forehead, crow’s feet, mid and lower face and neck can all be treated with Plenhyage XL. Hair loss also responds, as do all areas of skin over the whole body, such as inner arms, tummies and knees. Acne scarring, stretch marks, Rosacea and inflammation have all been seen improve with Plenhyage XL.
How It Works
Salmon sperm extract has been shown to increase the metabolic activity of skin cells and increase the number of fibroblasts and myofibroblasts, producing even more collagen. The results in an improvement in skin tightness and thickness, acne, pigmentation, red veins, Rosacea and inflammation.
The highly purified extract (that can even be used on those who have fish allergies) is injected into the skin using a local anaesthetic. This causes small blebs on the skin that usually disappear within 3 days. Sometimes a cannula can be used to reduce the down time and potential bruising.

The beauty of Plenhyage XL is that it causes cell regeneration so can address 2 problems that previously would have required 2 treatments using 2 products/ devices. Plenhyage XL produces some volumisation in the hollow as well as skin tightening of the wrinkles that would look worse if filler were used.

Each syringe contains 2 mls of product so you could expect to have upper lids, under eyes, crow’s feet, upper lip and still have a little left over. The neck does, however, because of the surface area, require a separate treatment and uses the Strong product.

The neck is the area to show the blebs most, but autumn and winter are a great time to address the neck and décolletage areas that can be easily covered up. The down time really comes from the little blebs that usually take about 3 days to subside ( the first day they are most obvious). Using a cannula reduces this as the product goes a bit deeper into the skin. With the cannula there is less bruising. If you do get bruising we have a great product that you can use or you may choose to start Arnica a few days before your treatment.

No preparation is needed, but Skinade or Nutrakos will give your skin the collagen building blocks it needs and can be started a month before or at the time of treatment and continued for at least 3 months.
As always, please do not touch your skin without washing your hands. In the first few days you must avoid introducing infection via the tiny puncture wounds. Avoid wearing makeup for 24 hours. Let the Salmon sperm / Sunekos work their magic over the next few weeks and months. The skin is stimulated to produce collagen and elastin and becomes tighter and more hydrated. Subsequent treatments have even more of an effect.
Salmon sperm is NOT hyaluronic acid. It is stimulating the body to produce its own hyaluronic acid and collagen.
Salmon DNA is very close to human DNA hence it stimulates all the cells it comes into contact with to behave like young cells.
Results can be seen as soon as 2 weeks with full results at about 3-4 months.
Local anaesthetic cream is applied to the skin for 30 minutes then the actual treatment takes about 15-20 minutes.
It is uncomfortable, hence we use anaesthetic.It causes a stinging sensation but only whilst it is being injected.
The results will diminish as your collagen production diminishes so combining with Skinade Collagen supplement and other Collagen treatments prolongs results. A single top up treatment can be done every 4-6 months, as required.
