Non-surgical cosmetic procedures are big news in 2016. The industry specialism is booming; it’s grown phenomenally over the last decade, even while the country has been in the grips of a recession.

It’s no surprise that people want to look good – and with non-surgical cosmetic treatments more accessible and affordable, they’ve become the norm not only for celebrities, but for the population in general.

But which of these procedures are the most popular? And what kind of effects do they have? We take a look at the industry trends to find out.

1. Botulinum Toxin Injections

Top of the list is the botulinum toxin injection – most often used to relax wrinkles in order to prevent them from deepening. The procedure is extremely effective, so much so that it can be used to carry out what’s known as a non-surgical eye lift – a treatment that gives the eyes the appearance of being lifted without surgical intervention.

See our recent blog post for more information on the procedure.

2. Dermal Fillers

Next up is dermal fillers, which, contrary to popular belief, aren’t just effective for lip-plumping. These injectables have a wide range of uses, and are a big part of both non-surgical facelifts and non-surgical nose jobs.

That’s right – non-surgical rhinoplasty can be carried out with dermal fillers. The popularity of this treatment is down to the fact that many people are put off by the permanence and complications of the surgical procedure. The fillers are injected in precise locations under the skin of the nose to change its contours – effectively reshaping it.

3. Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal rates highly on the list of most popular procedures – and it’s actually men who’re queuing up for it. The rise of the metrosexual have made a little manscaping perfectly acceptable – male grooming has gone mainstream and the long-lasting effects of laser hair removal make it easy to address problem areas like hairy backs and shoulders.

4. Microdermabrasion / Chemical Peels

Further down the list are rejuvenating procedures such as microdermabrasion and chemical peels. These procedures promise to reveal younger-looking, healthier skin by removing either the dull skin cells that have a dulling effect on the complexion or the damaged top layer of skin completely.

5. The best of the rest…

They might not have made the top five, but there are plenty of other non-surgical cosmetic procedures that are also rising in popularity in the UK. Non-surgical liposuction is an extremely effective treatment that gets results without risking the complications involved in surgery.
