About Emsella

BTL Emsella is a non-invasive treatment to stimulate and restore pelvic floor muscles that deteriorate after childbirth and age. It can also improve the quality of your intimate life. The Problem

The Problem

Childbirth puts a huge strain on the pelvic floor and disrupts the natural structure, resulting in a loss of support. As if childbirth wasn’t enough to go through, a loss of support can lead to urinary problems such as having little accidents when coughing, sneezing, exercising, straining or at any time when the intra abdominal pressure is raised. This is a fairly common problem and is treatable.

Doing Kegal pelvic floor exercises helps but can only contract your muscles to about 30-40% of their maximum contraction. Kegal exercises need to be done religiously, correctly and 3+ times a day to achieve results. Unfortunately many women are still left with a problem which further erodes confidence.

After childbirth many women also experience a difference in their sexual experience and satisfaction due to the disruption of the pelvic floor structure. The consequence of poor pelvic floor tone can lead to loss of confidence, avoidance of certain activities and fear of intimacy. Emsella is a completely non-invasive, effective solution.

How It Works

The Problem

BTL Emsella is made by the makers of the MRI scanner and BTL Emsculpt Neo for muscle stimulation and fat reduction of the body. Contractions of the pelvic floor muscles are achieved using High intensity focused electromagnetic energy emitted from the Emsella chair, without the need for clothing to be removed. You simply adjust your position until the energy hits the spot, and you will know when it does! The procedure should be conducted with 2 treatments a week for 3 weeks. After this, you can have a top up as and when you feel you need it. Over time, the muscle builds up and reduces the need for any pelvic floor exercises.

How much are additional sessions if I need a top up?

Yes, we diagnose based on symptoms alone. You stay fully clothed. Your therapist will ask several questions to check that Emsella is the right treatment for you.

It can help restore your bladder control, pelvic floor muscles and reduce or eliminate little accidents. It can also improve your intimate relationships.

Laser improves the vaginal wall but Emsella is stimulating the muscles involved in maintaining continence.

This is not advisable as it may cause an increase in the volume and length of your period.

The sensation is like tingling and tightening feeling. The tightening feels very different to that when you do Kegel exercises due to the intensity of the muscle contractions that you would be unable to do.

There is no down time at all. You may feel a ‘sensation’ in the vaginal area as it has done a good work out.

Emsella tightens the pelvic floor so tampons and urine stay in!

Try doing this after a couple of sessions and you will see the improvement that will keep getting better for several months.

Depending on the severity of your symptoms, you may need more treatments.

Building muscle is hard and Emsella does that for you. Maintaining muscle is much easier so we advise you to do your Kegels as much as you can or pop in for a few extra sessions when you feel you need it.

No preparation is needed, Emsella is totally non-invasive and you remain fully clothed throughout the treatment. Sessions when you are on your period should be avoided as your blood flow may be increased.

You may begin to see some improvement after a single session. The results will improve over the next few weeks following completion of the full course, it will take 6 months for full results. Continuing your home exercises is recommended to prolong results and further sessions and further sessions or courses can be had.

If you feel you need more sessions after your course of 6, each additional session is just £100.
