About HydraFacial

The HydraFacial treatment uses super-serums filled with antioxidants, peptides and hyaluronic acid to boost hydration and protects skin from environmental damage, leaving it recharged, renewed and invigorated. Hydrafacial is the second most common treatment after Botox at Radiance. Suitable for all ages and, not only shows you from the very first session how your skin can look when treated correctly, it gives ongoing improvement and collagen stimulation.

The Problem

The Problem

When we are young our skin is more elastic, springing back into place, meaning wrinkles are less visible when our skin is resting. As we age, the skin loses much of this elasticity, meaning that wrinkles are more visible, even when the skin’s muscles are relaxed. It’s these wrinkles that contribute to making our faces look older.

The reason for our skin losing its elasticity is that after the age of 30 the amount of collagen we produce diminishes. Collagen keeps our skin supple, so as it diminishes naturally we become prone to wrinkles and sagging skin.

Pore size and congestion are experienced by so many people with oily skin and often due to using the wrong products. Your Hydrafacial treatment will be tailored to your skin and concerns.

How It Works

Hydrafacial focuses on eight key areas to help rejuvenate the skin. Its unique system focuses on hydration, evening skin tone and reducing hyperpigmentation, anti-aging with peptides to strengthen the skin structure, decreasing puffiness and clearing blemishes.

The steps:

  • Lymphatic drainage
  • Cleansing
  • Softening the skin and pore contents
  • Exfoliation and extractions
  • A peel tailored to your need
  • Antioxidant flooding if the skin is full, thus proving defence against free radicals and also promoting healing
  • LED lights to supercharge the skin cells, wake them up and make them behave like young cells again. A full Dermalux/ Celluma can also be added to a Hydrafacial treatment.

Add on treatments or standalone treatments include Eye Perk and Lip Perk. This includes a take home product to use throughout the month

HydraFacial stimulates collagen, which creates a youthful skin texture. Hyaluronic acid ensures skin remains supple and elastic.

HydraFacial’s unique formula of peptides improves cell structural strength and stimulates collagen production; in turn this rejuvenates your skin and helps reduce the visible appearance of wrinkles.

Glycolic and salicylic acid break down pigmentation. Powerful antioxidants help to protect the skin from further damage.

Lymphatic drainage as the first step of the treatment reduces puffiness. Powerful ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, seaweed extract and soy peptides soothe and hydrate the skin, this helps strengthen the collagen and elastin in the delicate areas around the eye.

Ingredients in HydraFacial are designed to minimise redness and inflammation of the skin, which is caused by the breakout of spots, whilst preventing the skin drying out. Hyaluronic acid and antioxidants are then infused in the skin, which helps protect and restore your skin’s health.

Avoid using your retinol and ZO Firming Serum for 5 days before your appointment. Skinade or Nutrakos will give your skin the collagen building blocks it needs and can be started a month before or at the time of treatment and continued for at least 3 months.

Resume your normal ZO skincare routine being aware that products will penetrate deeper after your HydraFacial treatment. You may be advised to avoid using your retinol for a few days. For optimum skin health you must use an SPF every day throughout the year. We always recommend our range of SPFs from ZO Skin Health as they have proven UVA, UVB, IR-A and HEV protection. Our medical grade ZO range of skincare contains high levels of Vitamin C and Retinoids to further improve your results. Usually combined with Dermalux or Celluma LED light therapy.

The facial includes a number of different treatments to help bring out your inner glow! This includes lymphatic drainage, cleansing, exfoliation/peel, extraction, antioxidant and hydration and LED lights.

Usually the skin does not but it is possible. Your beauty therapist will advise on what chemical peel is best for you.

We recommend once a month for maintenance but if you are starting with very congested or dehydrated skin you may want to start with a weekly treatment for 3-6 weeks.

Most skin types and conditions are suitable for this treatment but we will assess this when we see you. At the moment the treatment may not be suitable for vegans as it contains honey and an ingredient that is derived from shellfish, for this reason people with shellfish allergies also are not suitable.
