About Clear + Brilliant

Clear + Brilliant is based on fractional laser technology and is a laser skin enhancement system that focuses on skin texture to treat and prevent signs of ageing. The gentle laser will help restore luminosity and smoothness to your skin, reduce pore size and give you a youthful glow.

The Problem

The Problem

Enlarged pores can be caused by genetics or where more oil is produced in the skin. This can lead to a buildup of skin cells at the top of the pore resulting in a blockage and swelling of the pore. Pore size tends to increase with age, especially around the chin and cheek areas.

The texture of the skin also deteriorates with age. Clear + Brilliant gives the skin a lovely glowing, smooth texture and appearance with little downtime compared to similar aggressive laser resurfacing treatments. This treatment is perfect as a course or as a ‘red carpet’ treatment.

How It Works

The Problem

Clear + Brilliant is likened to a combination of fractional laser, microdermabrasion and micro-needling using different modalities to get results. Local anaesthetic cream is applied to the face, neck or décolletage to numb the skin prior to treatment. The treatment is virtually painless and involves the laser light being rolled over your skin and takes up to an hour depending on the area. The delicate disruption to the skin with the gentle laser helps to restore luminosity and smoothness to reduce pore size and give you a youthful glow.

Local anaesthetic cream is applied to your face, neck or décolletage to numb the skin. The treatment is then virtually painless and involves the laser light being rolled over your skin. A treatment takes up to an hour depending on the area being covered.

The skin appears red usually only for a few hours and then the skin will feel rough and a bit dry for several days.

A course of 3-5 treatments are required for a reduction in pore size. As a ‘one off’ it is great treatment about 10 days before a special event.

Avoid retinol and tretinoin products for 5 days before your treatment. Skinade or Nutrakos will give your skin the collagen building blocks it needs and can be started a month before or at the time of treatment and continued for at least 3 months.

Do not cleanse or use products on the day of treatment. The following day cleanse your skin as normal using your ZO cleanser and then resume your exfoliating polish (if your skin feels comfortable to do so carry on using all your other ZO skincare products). Your skin may feel tight and be more sensitive when you apply your products for a few days, this is normal. You may want to avoid your retinol products until your skin returns to normal. Most commonly combined with LED light therapy 2-3 treatments in the days leading up to, straight after and for a few days after your treatment. This can be booked as an intensive course of 6 for £150 in our self-service room.

We recommend avoiding excessive sun exposure for at least 7 days before a treatment.

Usually between 3-7 days post treatment. Typically clients will be red for a day or two post treatment and then the skin will feel a bit rough like sandpaper. This is normal for the treatment and will subside.

You can get some peeling post treatment. This typically only occurs if we have used a retinol on your after the procedure. We will discuss this with you to see if this meets your requirements.

We don’t recommend it with a current flair up, the best treatment for inflamed or acneic skin is Dermalux LED Light.

Most people can have this treatment. If someone has acne we recommend treating this before doing Clear + Brilliant.
