We'll discuss your concerns around sweating to determine if miraDry is the right treatment for you. The results depend on the depth of your sweat glands underneath the skin and we may recommend a second treatment which has done at a reduced price.

Treatment

Firstly, we apply a numbing cream to the treatment area to ensure you remain comfortable throughout the treatment. We'll then draw on on the treatment area using a washable pen to ensure precise and uniform treatment coverage. Once the underarm area is numbed and mapped, the miraDry handheld device is used to deliver controlled electromagnetic energy to the targeted sweat and odour glands in the underarms. The device applies energy in short pulses, effectively heating and destroying the sweat and odour glands while keeping the surrounding tissues safe. Throughout the treatment, the miraDry device also includes a cooling mechanism to keep the skin surface cool and comfortable. This helps minimise any discomfort or sensation of heat during the procedureFirstly, the treatment area that contains the sweat glands is mapped out as everyone is different.

Aftercare

Ice packs or cooling pads will be applied to the treated area to help reduce swelling and discomfort once the local anaesthetic has worn off. You will be advised to avoid strenuous activities hot baths or showers and heavy lifting for a few days after treatment to allow the body to heal. Advised as to how to look after the area. The results are immediate, although the swelling can take several weeks to subside.
