Sunekos was developed in Italy after research into intravenous injection of amino acids was shown to improve recovery from a large number of illnesses. Sunekos combines a high concentration of amino acids (the body's building blocks) with hyaluronic acid dermal filler). It can be used in all areas of the face and neck to stimulate collagen production, improve hydration and tighten the skin. It is especially good in skin over 50 or where there has been a lot of sun damage that has resulted in fine and deep wrinkles.
There are 2 levels of Sunekos 200 & 1200 for even more results. The skin should first be primed with the 200 before using the stronger product.
Sunekos can also be combined with Profhilo in a course of treatment. Dr Ros will advise you on this.
As we age we lose the collagen in our skin which means the skin ‘stretches’ causing fine lines and wrinkles. This is especially so in skin that has been exposed to a lot of sun or smoke. Here it can be difficult to stimulate the skin to start producing collagen again. Certain areas of the face also do not require the volume that filler gives, just the tightening that Sunekos gives.
After the skin has been numbed using local anaesthetic cream multiple injections of Sunekos are administered. The act of injecting alone will stimulate the skin to repair but when amino acids are injected they immediately give the skin the building blocks to produce collagen thus tightening the skin. The hyaluronic acid further improves the results and enables the skin to stay plump and hydrated.
Depending on your area of concern Dr Ros can do more injections where it is needed. Dr Ros always uses the whole vial of Sunekos so can often do 2, if not 3 areas of the face.
A course of 3 is done, 7-10 days apart. Each time the skin ‘remembers how it needs to respond’ the results get even better. The skin continues to get better even 3 months after a treatment.
Sunekos can be combined with Aliaxin SR is great for improving the texture and tightening up the neck area. Aliaxin SR is a specific dermal filler that is used in the neck area. It is introduced using a cannula at the time of the first Sunekos treatment. Aliaxin SR for neck £395. Aliaxin SR + Sunekos neck £595
Profhilo injections plump, hydrate and stimulate collagen but do not contain amino acids, the building blocks of collagen. Profhilo is injected at specific points on the face and neck whereas Sunekos is injected just in the areas of concern.
Sunekos can be used anywhere on the face and neck. It is particularly effective in treating the crow’s feet area.
Because there are multiple injections there may be some bruising hence we say that there may be up to 10 days downtime until the bruising disappears although this may not happen. There will be some initial swelling but this is usually only for up to 24 hours.
The studies have shown that 3 treatments 7-10 days apart give the best results. Really this is like ‘training the skin to make collagen’.
This really depends on what else you are doing for your skin. A course followed by one treatment every 4-6 months is normal. Most people however start on the monthly membership plans which means the skin stays ‘fitter for longer’ With the treatment plans the skin is stimulated on a monthly basis with varying treatments advised by our aestheticians. Using our ZO medical grade skin care products improves the results as does taking the Skinade collagen supplement drinks.
